Creative Playground Update and Meeting Invitation

Playground Renewal Update

As we heard in the June 26, 2017 Creative Playground Update, a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes; planning and raising funds for our Playground Renewal project. School Council also committed to repair the current structure to ensure it is not removed before we have met our fundraising goal of $50 000 for a new creative playground.

To date the St. Teresa School Community has raised over $16 000 that is dedicated to the playground renewal fund. That is no small feat for a small community like ours. We are 30% of the way to our goal

Go Tigers!!

At the November 14, 2017 School Council meeting, the Playground Project Proposal and Sponsorship request letter was presented. Both documents were supported by Council and our Principal, giving us the needed support to begin seeking funding from outside our immediate school community.

The Playground Renewal Committee is planning to meet before the year is over. We will be discussing our fundraising campaign for the remaining school year that goes beyond the immediate St. Teresa School family.  Come and contribute your ideas.

Date: Tuesday December 5th

Time: 7:00 pm

Where: St. Teresa Church Hall, entrance of Leonard Street

All are welcome

If you are unable to make it you can still help out ….

  • Share your fundraising ideas
  • Identify community supporters
  • Let us know about grants and sponsorships you are familiar with
  • Check to see if your employer has a charitable matching program

If you would like to support the Playground Renewal Committee in anyway please contact Karyn Zister @

Revised Angel Tree Note from the Social Justice Club

Tiger Families!

Christmas is quickly approaching and the Social Justice Club has organized a new campaign to help people in and around our community. It’s the Angel Tree Campaign!!  Today, a letter will be sent home to describe the campaign. If you would like to participate, please sign the bottom portion of the form to indicate that your child can take an angel from the tree. Then, your child can take a tag from the Angel Tree that states an age and gender of a child that you can buy a gift for this Christmas. Gifts come back to the school (unwrapped, tag on) to be placed under the tree.  Gift ideas include toys, small clothing items (e.g. hat, socks), school supplies, and personal items (e.g. hair bands, nail polish, body wash). Please return your gift and tag to the school by Friday, December 15th. Thank you for helping make Christmas a little brighter for families in our community!
