Orange Shirt Day this Friday

I apologize for the late notice, but this Friday is Orange Shirt Day,

Orange shirt day is an annual event that started in 2013 to recognize the legacy of Residential school system for First Nations, Metis and Inuit families and communities.  It is a show of support and understanding of the history of the school system that impacts many First Nations, Metis and Inuit people today.

The phrase “Every Child Matters” reminds everyone that children are such an important and integral part of our communities and that they are our future generations of change makers.  By wearing an orange shirt, we have an opportunity to bring awareness to the history of residential schools and to stand up against other injustices that may impact our children/students.

Safety Drills today

Good afternoon St. Teresa Families,

This afternoon our school practised two safety drills, both a lockdown drill, and a tornado drill. The students followed the procedures in excellent fashion! They followed their teacher’s directions and did a great job! We practise these drills in the fall and spring, along with a number of fire drills. Safety of students is our utmost importance!

Go Tigers!

Our Week at a Glance!

Father Gil would like to invite all families to Mass this Saturday evening at 5pm or Sunday morning at 10:00! Mr. Goodyear and Father had a great meeting this past week and we look forward to working together! Father visited the classrooms, introduced himself, and gave lots of smiles and invitations to the Church! We’re hoping he’s learning to cheer for the Toronto Maple Leafs! Even if you’ve been away for a while, you are welcomed to the Church for mass! One of our younger students who was at Church this past weekend spoke about how special Father made her feel when she went up for a blessing at Communion Time!!! Know that Fr. Gil is very welcoming and wants us to fill up the Church with families!
