Parents/Caregivers, Please read!

Tiger Families,

Please take a few minutes to read the article by clicking on the link.

Some of the students were talking about this today, including some of our Primary Students. Please take a few minutes to ask your son/daughter if they know about this, and then please remind them to come to you if they see anything inappropriate online at home. We do the same at school. I have been informed that even “youtube for kids” has been infected.

Please help us help keep our students/your children safe online.

Sweater Day Tomorrow!

A message from the ECO Tigers Club:

This Tuesday, February 26th will be

St. Teresa’s 1st ‘Sweater Day!’

We will be turning down heat to bring AWARENESS of the importance of energy conservation.

So come to school this Tuesday with your warmest sweater!

-Since 2010, more than a million Canadians have shown their support for limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius by turning down their thermostats by the same amount (or more) and wearing their favourite sweaters to stay warm.

-National Sweater Day (Feb. 7th) is an opportunity to raise awareness about climate change and energy conservation, and show how together – classroom by classroom, school by school – we can be a part of the solution. We are doing this tomorrow, Feb. 26th!

Buses Cancelled

Good morning,

Buses are cancelled today but the school is open. Please be extra careful and take lots of time if you are dropping off your children at school today. The wind gusts are very large this morning with some white-outs on my drive in. (Mr. Goodyear).

The Book Fair is Coming next week!

St. Teresa is hosting our annual Scholastic Book Fair from February 25th-28th! Last year was a record year for our school, and we are hoping this year will be just as successful. The Book Fair is a great opportunity for students, staff, and friends and family to purchase new, quality books. A portion of proceeds go back to the school to add new items to our Library Learning Commons!

Students will have a preview day on Monday February 25th, and purchasing will take place Wednesday February 27th and Thursday February 28th during scheduled class visits and will be open to families 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Kindergarten classes will have flyers and order forms sent home to make ordering easy.

We are so thankful to our St. Teresa community for the tremendous support last year and look forward to another great year that will make this important literacy initiative a great success!

Last Monday, February 11th, St. Teresa Parish and St. Teresa School celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was a beautiful celebration! A heart-felt thanks goes out to all those involved in helping the students prepare for such a wonderful Sacrament! Father Gil would like to welcome the newly confirmed, now called “Confirmandi” to mass this Sunday to receive their certificates. Please see below.

“Welcoming of our Confirmandi” on Sunday, February 24th at 10.00 a.m.: During this Mass our young people who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on February 11th, will be officially welcomed by our parish community and will receive their Confirmation Certificate. We cordially invite all Confirmadi and their families for this special celebration. Fr. Gil
