Hey Kindergarten Parents!

Here’s a couple of helpful hints!

  1. From the Twitter feed of @ONTSpecialNeeds    “Public Service Announcement for all soon-to-be Kindergarten parents…Practice eating “school lunch” with your kiddo. Make sure they can open everything you send with them. Set a timer for 15 minutes and talk about how they may not finish eating and that’s okay. Their teachers/ECE’s will love you for it!” We agree!
  2. Separation Anxiety for new students. Here’s a great article that may help give some recommendations children who have some challenges being away from parents/caregivers at the beginning of school. Separation Anxiety Doc Anxiety

Hello St. Teresa Families,

There’s lots of summer left and we hope you enjoy every minute! Attached are some files that may help with the last part of summer planning for return to school.

You will find information regarding the school bus and how to login to the student transportation site for students who will be riding the bus, starting on Monday, August 26th. There is information for parents of students starting Grade 9 at St. David Secondary School that was sent home in June. There is a “suggested” supplies list that went home with June report cards for back to school shopping-please note this is just a suggested list to limit items that are not needed, which was sent home with June report cards. There is also information on how to sign up for “School Cash Online” in which all field trip permission forms along with any payments to the school starting in September will go through(including agendas). Please make sure to sign up if you haven’t already. Finally, there is information regarding the extended day program that runs at St. Teresa School in Kitchener. Approximately two weeks notice are required for extended day sign-up so it is suggested to do so quickly if needed for September.
