Today Bishop Douglas Crosby sent the new directives concerning pastoral ministry in the diocese of Hamilton.
Please find attached the letter from Bishop Douglas Crosby.
Following the directives we will not celebrate publicly weekday Mass and Weekend Mass until further notice.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is also suspended in our chapel, but the church will be open from 9:00am – 9:00pm for personal prayer.
In view of all these challenges that we face and having in mind those affected by Coronavirus I would like to ask you to pray individually and also as family to end this disease
Pope Francis prayed last Sunday at San Marcello al Corso Church in Rome, home to a crucifix which believers say helped to end an outbreak of the plague in 1522. Pope Francis invites us to unite ourselves to Christ and one another in the spiritual communion of the Eucharist, as more governments encourage citizens to stay at home to fight the spread of Covid-19. He said: “United to Christ we are never alone, but we form one single Body, of which He is the Head.” Pope Francis called it “a union that is nourished with prayer, and also with the spiritual communion in the Eucharist, a practice that is highly recommended when it is not possible to receive the Sacrament.”
If you need any more information or would like to request a pastoral visit please do not hesitate to contact our parish office.
Please share this message with your family and friends.
